Q: What is Oolooolio, anyway? A: A multiversal transmission disguised as a website. It’s also a collaborative artist-run platform for essays, images, experiments, fictions, fashion, philosophy, sound, and speculative everything. We publish work across disciplines and dimensions.
Q: Is this a magazine? A collective? A person? A hoax? A: Yes. And no. And possibly. Oolooolio is a system of contributors—real and invented, singular and plural—who transmit from different places, bodies, and timelines. Sometimes they agree. Often they don’t. That’s part of the point.
Q: Who makes this? A: A consortium of contributors, collaborators, and cosmic busybodies. You can meet them on the Contributors page. Many of them are extensions or aspects of one another. We are multivalent by design.
Q: Why so many colors? A: Because we live in a culture of grayscale thinking and binary sorting. Color is both rebellion and invitation. It’s how we say: here are many ways of seeing, knowing, and being. Also: it looks amazing.
Q: Can I contribute? A: Maybe. If you resonate with our frequencies and have work that belongs here, reach out via the Contact page. We’re not currently open for regular submissions, but spontaneous portals do sometimes appear.
Q: Do you accept advertising? A: No. This space is uncolonized by marketing. What you see is what we chose to put here, not what someone paid us to say.
Q: Is this real? A: As real as money. As real as a story. As real as the internet. As real as your breath. What kind of real were you hoping for?
Q: Why do some contributors seem… fictional? A: Because they are. And they aren’t. Oolooolio treats imagination as a legitimate mode of research and invention as a form of authorship. Some contributors are alter egos, avatars, ghosts, or conglomerates. All are real within the system.
Q: Where can I buy your stuff? A: The Acquire page has stickers, prints, apparel, digital files, and other anomalies. More portals are on the way.
Q: How can I support this? A: Through our Tend page (aka donations). This is an independent, artist-run project with no ads, sponsors, or algorithms. Every little bit helps maintain the transmission.
Q: Are you for real anti-capitalist or just vibe-checking? A: We believe in mutual aid, not exploitation. We believe in enough-for-everyone, not billionaires. We try not to reproduce the structures that damage us, even when we’re tired or broke.
Q: Do you have a social media presence? A: Yes, technically. We exist on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube—but we’re not hyperactive. This site is our main signal.
